What are your digital marketing plans for 2023?
Krista Nehar, of Boot Camp Digital, predicts in Forbes the following (9) digital marketing trends that can grow your business in 2023:
- Metaverse;
- Artificial intelligence;
- Customer Experience;
- Short videos;
- Simple, clear messages;
- Influencers;
- Employee advocacy;
- LinkedIn as a B2B Advocacy Powerhouse; and
- A focus on Foundations;
With a few key global brands such as Starbucks and Nike testing the Metaverse and artificial intelligence driving the algorithm and generating relevant user-content to your audiences or stakeholders, developing a content strategy with clear and simple messaging that is relevant to your audiences and focuses on their experiences to make your brand top of mind are what drives authentic and positive brand experiences.
More than ever, brands with values that are adopted internally by employees as key brand ambassadors and influencers within to drive key messages and campaigns are considered more authentic and human to external audiences – giving your brand greater currency and relevance in comparison with overly produced concepts that do not solve their core problems.
TikTok’s list of most viewed videos of 2022 can demonstrate some simple and easy video formats to inspire you and your brands to increase engagement and dare we say leads that convert to social impact. For example “Tom’s No Longer Homeless” below is a wonderful example of building community culture and lending a helping hand and helping solve the real global housing crisis and its victims: the homeless. Yes, influencer marketing can solve social problems as we have seen time and time again.
Examples of clear, simple messages is Frankie the Dino, the star of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) film on climate action called “Don’t Choose Extinction” which grossed 1.8 billion global views and was the first-ever film made inside the UN General Assembly using computer-generated imagery (CGI).

“Bringing Frankie to life at Cannes Lions is a perfect example of how multiple platforms can be used to amplify the world’s most impactful – and creative – environmental campaigns. The creative community should step up to the challenge and use its impressive abilities and minds to get this message out: we only have one earth and the time to act is now.”
Boaz Paldi, Chief Creative Officer at UNDP.
