Business Link Pacific’s: Tech Advice for remote working and business development in the Pacific

Yesterday, SR Curio attended the free webinar hosted by Business Link Pacific, with the very knowledgeable and practical Matt Lloyd from Arco Tech.

Here are practical take-aways we learnt:

  1. How to integrate the systems we already have in place, had the tools, but did not know how to create a workflow that integrated these tools.
  2. How to track changes in Google Docs;
  3. That as a Google business user, SR Curio can access Google Meet (we had no idea it was a Google App, thanks Matt!)
  4. That Google Meet links are included automatically in Google Calendar invitations and are a practical solution, which allows us to keep our operations leaner, we save money on transportation and fuel and will therefore champion this internally as well as with our clients moving forward. We started using Google Meet immediately after the webinar with a client, as opposed to Zoom which we found limits us to half an hour sessions only on the free plan.

For those of you who were unable to attend, click HERE to access the full recording of the webinar, including the Q&A sessions.

In the Webinar Matt referred to a ‘how to guide’ called Getting Your Business Online. You can download the Guide HERE.

Thanks and don’t forget to tell us what Google for Business tools you are using now or any others by commenting in the comments below.

SR Curio business continuity plans in response to COVID-19

SR Curio has designed its business model centred around remote working conditions since 2012 for its team members and clients.

For example, on our project for the ARIA-nominated band, Sheppard, SR Curio team members for the project locations were as follows:

  1. Cassandra Gundry, Los Angeles, United States
  2. Sofia Ramoi, Port Moresby, Port Moresby
  3. Brittany George, Gold Coast, Australia
  4. Tom Perry, Brisbane, Australia

In 2019, SR Curio most recently introduced Trello to its clients, in particular, Pacific Foam Group and Kumul Foundation. The product uptake was smooth as both chairmans of Pacific Foam and Kumul Foundation respectively found it useful and were proactive on the collaboration tool

Trello

In terms of business continuity, we have found online Kanban the visual collaboration platform that gives teams perspective on projects – Trello in addition to our suite of applications available for G-Suite Business applications such as Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Slides to collaborate with internal teams. Currently, we are using Google Docs and Google Sheets for our campaign for our client Southern Cross Assurance Limited. Trello is particularly useful for increasing power-ups (or addons) such as Google Hangouts for project teams for meetings.

G-Suite for Business Apps

SR Curio is a  Google Suite for business user, even if you don’t have a google account can use Google Meet, which allows you to schedule meetings with us.

To book a meeting with SR Curio for example, we use HubSpot which prevents back and forth emailing and allows you to select a free spot on our calendar. You can schedule a discovery phase meeting here.  You will receive an automatic Calendar notification which will automatically include a Google Meet video link for us to have the meeting via videoconferencing.

We look forward to achieving client milestones and encourage our clients to adapt to the available solutions we have incorporated into our systems and processes.

There may not be a vaccine for COVID-19 yet, however we believe operations and businesses can still communicate and achieve targets by adopting these simple and effective solutions.

The 2019 Journey Begins

Thanks for joining us!

2018 was an incredible journey of growth and learning for us as we explored new projects, relationships, industries and wisdom!

We are in the initial stages this month to conduct a review of our 2018 journey with its highlights, milestones and lessons learned. We’ve learnt so much about our clients, our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges as a result of us trying new things.

2019 sees a redeemed sense of focus on strategic insights drawn from 2018 which gives our executive team a path of ruthless, dedicated focus.

We look forward to continuing this journey with all our inspiring clients and the projects that refresh us, documenting and featuring them in greater clarity this year.

Thank you!

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
